The Town and Country Quilters of Joplin, Missouri, was established in 1985. Our purpose is to promote the art and craft of patchwork and quilting. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the craft, from beginner to the professional. Annual dues are $20.00. We invite you to visit our general monthly meetings at Peace Lutheran Church at 3100 North St. Louis in Joplin Missouri. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
We have a formal program with an invited speaker starting at 1 pm, followed by our monthly business meeting, and ending with a guild member Show and Tell. You will be a part of a great group of people who share the same interests as you.
On October 17th the guild held the 2023 distribution of Community Service projects to seven worthy organizations. Representatives from each agency came to the meeting to receive their donations. The 2023 recipients agencies are: Area Agency on Aging Region X; Care Net Regency Pregnancy Resource Center of Neosho; Children's Center of Southwest Missouri; Children's Haven; Crosslines Ministry; Life Choices; and Washington Family Hope Center (Watered Gardens). A total of 174 quilts, 132 burp cloths, 84 receiving blankets, 12 layette sets, 13 walker bags, and 10 pillowcases were donated this year.
